Yog Chetna Mahotsav 2026 Honours World Yogasana Champions, Inspires a New Generation of Yoga Practitioners

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 18: The grand Yog Chetna Mahotsav 2026, jointly organized by the Madhya Pradesh Yoga Commission and Akhil Bhartiya Yog Shikshak Mahasangh (ABYSM), was successfully held in Bhopal, bringing together yoga practitioners, trainers, dignitaries, and athletes from across the country. The event also hosted the World Yogasana Championship 2026 Winners’ Award Ceremony, celebrating athletes who have brought pride to India and Madhya Pradesh through their outstanding achievements on the global stage.

The programme was graced by the presence of Pujya Sant Shri Devkinandan Thakur Ji Maharaj, who delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of yoga, spirituality, discipline, and Indian cultural values in building a healthy and harmonious society. Encouraging participants to adopt yoga as a way of life, he highlighted its transformative role in individual growth and national development.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including Dr. Raghvendra Sharma, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Yoga Commission; Shri Rakesh Shukla, Cabinet Minister, Government of Madhya Pradesh; renowned actor Aniruddh Dave; Dr. Bharti Acharya; Shri R. N. Chand; Swami Amit Dev; Rahul Gaur, National Secretary, ABYSM; Ravindra Kumar Singh; Ved Prakash Sharma; Pushpanjali Sharma; Karan Singh Pawar; Dr. Tajendra Singh Bawal; Ruchi Sachan; Rajendra Dixit; Animesh Bhargava; Chand Nagvanshi; Deepak Jain; Varun Kushwaha; Dr. Antim Jain; Manohar Rajput; and Rajesh Srivastava.

The medal winners were felicitated by Pujya Shri Devkinandan Thakur Ji Maharaj, Dr. Raghvendra Sharma, and Yoga Guru Mangesh Trivedi, National President of Akhil Bhartiya Yog Shikshak Mahasangh (ABYSM).

The honoured athletes included Dr. Aarti Pal, Bhavna Pal, Raj Rajole, Riya, Deepa Lodhi, Nisha Chawda, and Sapna Pal, who collectively secured eight Gold Medals and one Silver Medal across various championship categories, delivering an exceptional performance and bringing laurels to the nation.

The audience was captivated by a remarkable Yogasana demonstration by Harshika Rikhaadi, Brand Ambassador of ABYSM, whose flexibility, balance, and artistic presentation reflected the true spirit and discipline of yoga. Another inspiring moment came from Pran Patel of Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, who performed Surya Namaskar continuously for five hours, showcasing extraordinary endurance, dedication, and commitment to yogic practice.

The successful execution of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of ABYSM office-bearers and volunteers, including Milindra Tripathi, Sumit Sharma, Dr. Hemant Tiwari, Shiv Prakash Sharma, Dheeraj Mishra, Priyanka Sinha, Dr. Harsha Tiwari, Adhiraj Abhyuday, Dr. Anjana Tripathi, and Prashant Kumar Gautam.
